Urgent help
For acute problems call 08-400 246 71. If we don't answer immediately, leave a message with your name, ID and a description and we will return your call.
Does it hurt?
After braces are fitted, and at adjustments, your teeth may be tender for a few days. Soft food helps, and occasionally a painkiller may be needed.
Sores?
Sores caused by the braces can be relieved by applying a little wax to the area. If you have no wax, sugar-free chewing gum can be used temporarily.
Broken appliance?
Braces can break if you bite something hard. Always contact us if anything in the appliance breaks.
What if I can't reach the clinic?
If your braces come loose abroad, you can ease the discomfort temporarily. A loose bracket can be carefully clipped off with a clean nail scissor.

Braces and food
You quickly get used to wearing braces or aligners. The tongue adapts so that speech is not affected, and you can continue eating and drinking normally.
